Due to an unprecedented surge in COVID-19 instances, the Bihar authorities on Friday declared summer season trip in universities and schools of the state from immediately, May 1 to May 31. Earlier, the summer vacation was scheduled from June 1 to June 30. The authorities has determined to prepone the summer season trip after contemplating the requests of vice-chancellors of universities and schools in Bihar.
“After due consideration of the proposal from the vice-chancellors, the Chancellor has been pleased to declare summer vacation in the universities and colleges from May 1 to May 31, instead of the earlier scheduled period from June 1 to June 30, with a condition that if any examination scheduled to be held has not been conducted so far, it shall strictly be conducted between June 1-15,” reads the official notification launched by Raj Bhawan.
Earlier, the state authorities introduced the closure of colleges, schools and different academic establishments in Bihar until May 15. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had mentioned that in this era, state-run colleges and universities is not going to conduct any examination.
In view of the continuing COVID-19 scenario, a number of states have determined to close down academic establishments, and postponed or cancelled board exams 2021. Bihar, nonetheless, performed its Class 10 (Matric) and Class 12 (Intermediate) closing exams in February-March. The outcomes of those exams have already been introduced.
